On this page I recommend only software which I personally use and think is good and I always recommend free software if good free options are available.
Raster graphics editor
I have used GIMP and Paint.net
Paint.net is a freeware raster graphics editor for Windows. Please don’t confuse it with the Microsoft Paint. Paint.net is a lot better than MS Paint and I still find it is easy to use compared to GIMP which has a bit of a learning curve.
GIMP is a free and open-source (GPLv3+ licensed) raster graphics editor for Windows, Linux, Mac OS, BSD, and Solaris. GIMP is very feature-rich and I highly recommend it but in my experience, it takes some more time to learn than Paint.net. So if you are looking for something quick and easy perhaps Paint.net is the better option for you.
This is a professional tool and has a learning curve to it. There is a free fully featured version which is very nice.
Windows Movie Maker
Easy to learn and free. A good place to start from if you don’t need that many features.
LosslessCut is an easy tool to just do a rough cut quickly. Have used it in some cases that I don’t want to spend time on editing and know that there is some very simple cutting I just need to quickly do.
Simple and ultra fast cross platform tool for lossless trimming/cutting of video and audio files. Great for saving space by rough cutting your large video files taken from a video camera, GoPro, drone, etc.
ArchiMate (originally from Architecture-Animate) is an open and independent enterprise architecture modeling language to support the description, analysis and visualization of architecture within and across business domains[ in an unambiguous way.Wikipedia
